q&a with new dominion bookshop owner julia mccrea kudravetz
what’s the best part of working in retail during the holiday season?
the best part of retail at the holidays is seeing or talking to people i haven't seen in a. while; usually (but maybe not this year) seeing old friends who come back to town for the holidays and catching up on all the happy changes in our lives.
what items are you giving, or hoping to receive, from scarpa?
ji would like to spend christmas day wrapped in the wallace + sewell gwynn block throw, which looks like a modernist painting. i love it.
what are you taking home from your own store this year?
a metropolitan museum of art weekly calendar with the promise of a whole new year in front of me.
what’s your favorite way to unwind at the end of a busy day in the shop?
i like to take a fresh outdoor walk and not look at my phone for at least twenty minutes, then have a glass of red wine from market street wineshop by the fire.
