chances are if you've heard of deepa gurnani, you may be more familiar with the headbands that put the label on the map five years or so ago. as the brand has expanded, their offerings have come to include a wide array of jewelry and accessories. the design team consists of deepa and her husband, and between the two of them, they boast an impressive range of design experience.
deepa studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, where she beaded couture pieces for Alexander McQueen and Fendi. Her husband and design partner Jay Lakhani trained under head designers at Tiffany and Bulgari. Needless to say, these two have worked with some of the best, so it comes as no surprise that their eponymous label offers some truly exquisite pieces.
we're all probably quite familiar with the "statement" necklace as a constantly revisited trend. i'd venture to say deepa gurnani has taken the statement necklace to another level, especially with these spring offerings. objets d'art without the couture price tag? it may be hard to say no. . .
